The NCF in June - July 2010

The NCF is an independent campaigning body that focuses on issues that matter to consumers, aims to give consumers a strong voice, helps vulnerable consumers who are victims of unscrupulous businesses and helps to build the capacity of consumers to become informed participants in the market-place. 

As an NGO, we have very limited financial and human resources, and we can only do so much. For these two months, we are committing ourselves to the activities and programmes listed below.

  1. Publish 3rd edition of Consumer Fair
  2. Publish Consumer Fair Online monthly
  3. Maintain and grow the consumer complaints referral service
  4. Publish report of the survey on availability of computers, internet and library facilities in schools
  5. Make submission to the Department of Trade and Industry on sections 77 / 8 of the Consumer Protection Act [Developing the regulations]
  6. Attend two day training in London of the International Consumer Research and Testing [ICRT] in preparation for the launch of Consumer Reports magazine towards end of 2010.
